DAY ONE:

         -Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) Technology
         -Using the Polygraph. Funding, Legal, Interpretation
         -The Sex Offender Search-Home, Work, Vehicle, Other...
      -Local law enforcement supervision when parole and or probation are completed.          -Public notification and "flyering" high risk or non-cooperative registrants
         -Using assertive techniques in conducting regular compliance searches
         -Making entry with consent compliance searches
         -Legal Issues and Trends
       -Sex Offender Registration Procedures, tips, strategies
          -Laws and Legal Mandates, Roadblocks, and Loopholes
          -LIABILITY
          -What is your Agency's exposure if your staff are not trained.
          -When a case blows up-working with other agencies and the press when things               go bad.
          -Different Laws in Different States

 DAY TWO:
        -Digital Searching, Investigating, and Supervising for SO Officers
           -Special 4 hour INTENSIVE Field Search training for Sex Offender Officers
            -Investigating the "cloud" for Clues, artifacts, and evidence.
            -Social Networking Sites and Tools-MySpace, Facebook, etc.
             -Internet Monitoring Companies,  Pros and Cons
             -Cell Phone Forensics for the Field Officer using Field Search and other tools

 DAY THREE:
             -Planning, Organizing, and Deploying a Mulit-Agency Sex Offender Sweep                     Operation.
             -Forms for planning the operation 
         -Includes a free 90 day subscription to the "Sweep Wizard" web application.
             -Sweep Wizard makes  sweep planning and execution a breeze.  
             -Officers can prepare for their first sweep operation in class
             -Newly assigned officers can go from green to pro in 24 hours....they walk out                 of class fully trained, motivated, and ready to protect our communities!

About the Instructor:    

Erik J. McCauley is the founder and president of  EJM DIGITAL which was launched in January of 2008

EJM DIGITAL's mission is simple: To provide those who protect our citizens, the tools they need to do it better.

Erik has been searching the digital devices of offenders and supervising high risk sex offenders in the community for well over a decade.  Erik is the lead investigator for Orange County (CA) Probation's High Tech Forensic Lab and has been a sworn instuctuctor for over 20 years.  Erik has spent over a decade working with High Risk Sex Offenders, He has taught over 1000 sworn staff from over 85 agencies (See List) how to search the digital devices of offenders using the Field Search Software.  Erik has over 21 years experience in Law Enforcement.

Erik has been a presenter/trainer at several national and state events including the California Coalition on Sexual Offending's (CCOSO) Annual Training Conference (on three occasions) and The National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center's (NLECTC) Innovative Technology For Corrections Training Conferences (on two occasions)

Erik was selected as "Deputy Probation Officer Of The Year" for the entire state of California by the California Probation and Parole Correctional Association (CPPCA) and has received a Distinguished Service Award By the Chief Probation Officer's of California (CPOC) for his work in the digital supervision of high risk sex offenders in our communities.

Erik has directly assisted in the development of state and national protocols and legislation used in the containment of high risk sex offenders and their digital devices, including California SB 619 which gives the Chief Probation Officers the sole discretion on the deployment and use of GPS Technology on supervised sex offenders.  Erik has also consulted on a national level with decision makers in the area of internet monitoring of sex offenders by supervision officers.

Erik and his team have been recognized on a local state and federal level for their work with digital investigation and High Risk Offender Supervision in the Community Setting.
